Starting next week we have events every weekend.
The events include:
Artist Inviting Artist Exhibition @ the Wild Rose Gallery in Broken Bow, NE This show will be on display for the whole month of September, with a reception on Sep 4 from 5:30-7:30. It includes artist of all mediums from all over the state, including some very well known artist such as Anne Burkholder (one of my favorite Great Plains Painters).
Rockbrook Village Art Fair, Sep. 12th and 13th, Omaha, NE
Art on the Point, Village Pointe, Sep. 19th and 20th, Omaha, NE
Lincoln Arts Festival, SouthPointe Pavilions, Sep. 26th and 27th, Lincoln, NE
The art fairs are some of the biggest and best in the Midwest each year with over 100+ artist on display at each one. Many of the artist are national award winners and have pieces in museum and corporate collections.
If you are in the area for any of these stop by and check out the art work and enjoy a good event.
Don't forget to find a spot on your wall to fill before coming!"

Lesson #1
There aren't to many place left in the USA that doesn't have some sort of fast food place close by. There also are not that many citizens that have to drive almost a 45-60 minutes one-way to a Walmart. In fact I think something like 90% of the US population live within 15 miles of a Walmart.
We happen to have found and will now live in one of the few places that has neither, and for lunch today I found that out the hard way. After getting the cable and internet hooked up I was ready for lunch. One problem we had little food in the new house and nothing close by to grab anything.
While scrounging I found some Triscuts, peanut butter, and chili beans. I would have ate the beans but with no can opener I was limited in my selection so 1/3 of a box of Triscuts dipped in peanut butter was all I had left. Although not to bad, it wasn't enough energy for clearing yard trash.

What are you going to Blog About?
So I got an email asking what I was going to blog about? I guess mainly photography, but also about ideas, art, traveling, experiences, and what ever else comes to mind, so that my family, friends, customers, and anyone else can follow. I don't plan on setting limitations so pretty much anything is open for debate.

Senior Pic's

Here is the results of my first on location senior portraiture session in Omaha. I did most of my research via the web, and was not sure just how the locations, lighting, backgrounds, and subject would all come together.
It is easier to do these sessions in a familiar place where you understand and have studied the lighting, backgrounds, etc. It is much harder to make those analysis on the go, clock ticking, customer waiting. However, that is one of the best ways to learn lighting.
I could not have asked for a better person to photograph under those circumstances. The less stressed out the customers is, the better the session goes, and Blaine was anything but stressed.
Not having been to many of these locations before I think these shots turned out great! We got a good mix of scenes, colors, and black and whites. I also got a quick lesson in lighting analysis on the fly.

Here are a few examples I did for Sterling Transportation Services out of Blair, NE. This campaign was for various uses, and was taken over a several month period to document the extent to which they are willing to deliver their customers products. There are a few things looking back I would have changed, but all in all it was a successful campaign.
